Astro Bot Dlc Roadmap: New Vip Bots, Speedruns, More

It’s inspired by the playful design of ASTRO’s trusty Dual Speeder. Kenneth C. M. Young, having previously composed the music for Astro Bot Rescue Mission and Astro’s Playroom, returned to compose the soundtrack for Astro Bot. We listened to your comments and now, Astro is back in a super-sized space adventure, his biggest to date. It is no surprise that a game like Astro Bot could be the big winner of the Game Awards.

I’ve never cared about PlayStation Trophies before, but I expect to unlock them all in Astro Bot, if only incidentally because I want to see and do everything this game offers. I don’t know if I’ve ever played a platformer before where I enjoyed literally every single boss fight and level, but I can confidently say that about Astro Bot. The stages constantly surprise and delight as they take full advantage of the PS5’s hardware. Astro Bot levels are beautiful, brought to life by genius art direction and some of the best graphics on the PS5. It all feels so alive thanks to how the DualSense controller reacts to what players see on the screen, with Astro Bot making great use of the DualSense’s haptic feedback and speaker.

Astro Bot is nothing short of a masterpiece, an ingenious platformer filled with vibrant worlds and ingenious design. It’s a game that oozes creativity, consistently delighting and surprising the player with new mechanics, gameplay twists, smart boss battles, and jaw-dropping set-piece moments. But past that, it’s also a grand celebration of PlayStation and video game history as a whole — the only game that’s been able to rival Super Smash Bros. in that regard.

In a way, Team Asobi — Sony’s go-to tech demo developer and maker of Astro’s Playroom and the upcoming Astro Bot — has been doing this kind of preparatory work for the last 12 years.

If you have even the slightest interest in the platformer genre, Astro Bot is a must-play game. Following the release of the first set of speedrun-style DLC levels, many fans were wondering if Team Asobi had anything else planned for the popular game. After releasing a full-sized holiday level and teasing an unreleased level at the PlayStation XP Tournament Final in London, Team Asobi officially confirmed a second wave of DLC levels for Astro Bot. Unlike the first DLC, these levels would focus more on platforming and offer a time attack version with online leaderboards once completed for the first time.

Astro Bot proves that creativity, fun and well applied technology is what the industry needs right now (and well, we can’t deny the touch of nostalgia or the amazing use of licenses). PlayStation can clean up the sour taste of last year, and perhaps show them that there are other paths to greatness. For now, that’s everything we know about DLC plans for Astro Bot. If the game sells beyond expectations, however, there’s always a chance fans get a little more love down the line.

Thankfully, checkpoints are often generously and frequently located, meaning you’re only ever moments away from the spot of your previous demise. Astro Bot really is the video game equivalent of venturing through Willy Wonka’s chocolate factory; a delightful concoction of experimentation and joy, just without the child endangerment. Chocolate death pipes and fizzy lifting drinks are instead swapped out for sinkholes leading to treasure and an inflatable friend who helps you reach floating platforms. To assist with his mission, Astro can use over 15 new abilities offering unique play styles. Combined with improved Astro controls, these new powers take the Astro platforming experience to new heights while remaining accessible for all.

We never used to have guides like these from day one, and had lots of fun figuring things out. So I disagree – these kind of guides on day one should be discouraged and not commended. Winter Wonder is a DLC level that unlocks after clearing the main game. It’s a special, festive-themed level full of Special Bots and other goodies to find. Not just one of the best games this year, but one of the best playstation titles.

I went into it with high expectations thanks to Astro Bot Rescue Mission and Astro’s Playroom, and it not only met my expectations, but completely exceeded them. It’s the best 3D platformer since Super Mario Odyssey hit the scene in 2017 and will be remembered as an all-time classic of the genre. Everyone with a PS5 should get their hands on this game ASAP, and hopefully, Team Asobi gets to continue making masterpieces. There are a lot of games nowadays that require you to be frugal with your purchases like Persona 3 Reload and Final Fantasy VII Rebirth. In fact, it’s encouraged to spend a lot of your money on animations for Bots, outfits, and Dual Speeder colors at the Gacha Machine.

Bursting to the seams with charm, Astro Bot is an inventive, nostalgia-fuelled platformer of the highest order. Customers appreciate the game’s creative levels, with one mentioning that the world is filled with secrets and another noting how it encourages players to think creatively. Customers find the game suitable for all ages, with kids particularly enjoying it, and one customer noting that the main levels are great for young players. Astro, the robot captain of a mothership resembling the PlayStation 5 console, and his crew of Bots are exploring space when a green alien named Space Bully Nebulax attacks them and rips out the mothership’s CPU.
