These trophies are straightforward‚ requiring you to complete levels like “Memory Meadow” or “SSD Speedway.” There are approximately 10 such trophies‚ each tied to a unique world or area. While most are unlocked naturally as you progress‚ some may need replays to collect missed items. These trophies serve as milestones‚ encouraging exploration and ensuring you experience the game’s diverse environments and mechanics. Players can use weapons, such as plunger arrows and a pellet gun which shoots coloured balls, to destroy objects and defeat enemies.
In the PlayStation Labo area are two Bots in VR with a third listening to music, with two microphones behind him. The mics reference 2004’s Singstar for the PS2, developed by London Studio. Singstar was a very popular franchise on the PS2, and came packed with blue and red microphones, as referenced in the Labo area. In the PlayStation Labo area is a Bot sadly trying to make sense of a pile of shapes. This is referencing PS4 launch title Knack, released in 2013 and developed by SCE Japan Studio.
If you want curated lists of our favorite media, check out What to Play and What to Watch. I can’t say I had very high expectations for Astro’s Playroom, a game that comes free with every PlayStation 5 console. I figured it might be a cute series of minigames, akin to the robot-themed minigames in the PlayStation 4’s pack-in title, The Playroom. That PS4 game was the sort of thing you boot up once, mess around with for 30 minutes, and then forget it exists. It’s a phenomenal thing, taken even further with adaptive triggers that provide meaningful, forceful feedback.
Alongside the Nintendo 64 and Sega Saturn, the PlayStation was one of the first video game consoles to specialize in 3D graphics. Early models featured RCA jacks for video and audio output and a Parallel I/O port, but these were all removed by the 1999 models. At the top, wait for the last block to slide left so you can stand on the left-hand side. Use a jump and Beam Glide to land on top of the block (just like you did before), then ride the block left through the Coins. From here you can jump left one last time to land on a button that reveals a Yellow Trampoline.
To collect all the collectibles, you will also need to walk around the main location – the CPU Plaza. PlayStation Labo lets you complete the collection by drawing prizes in a Gatcha-style game. Every level has tons of retro tech to collect and store in the PlayStation Labo.

Puzzle Piece 1/4 – From the start of the area, go to the left and go through or around the igloo to find this puzzle piece. Artifact 1/2 “PS Move Sharpshooter”– After jumping up through the two slanted glass panels, jump to the left to an area with a wooden box with a diamond on it.
If you happen to be one of the lucky few with a PlayStation 5 this holiday season, there aren’t going to be a ton of games that really show off all the fancy features of this giant white tower in your house. Lucky for you, Astro’s Playroom is one of the best showpieces of the PS5, setting a new standard for what this next generation is really capable of. In one level, I run Astro through a rainstorm, and an automatic umbrella pops up out of his head. Through the controller, I can feel raindrops pitter-pattering as the sound of the storm emanates from within. When Astro walks under an overhang, the rain vibrations stop, but the sound of the rain keeps going inside the controller. Astro’s Playroom has a new tool in that regard, of course, with the PlayStation 5’s DualSense controller and its haptic feedback.
The globe is LittleBigPlanet itself, covered in badges that represent levels from players around the world. If you’re new to platformers, or video games in general, you may find yourself rushing in and dying quickly for seemingly no reason. If this happens a lot to you, try stepping back and observing the obstacles ahead. Study the movement of platforms, observe what enemies are up ahead, and plan your approach accordingly.

Once you’re on the other side, tug the Wires on the wall to reveal the next sequence with moving blocks. Jump onto the left-hand one, right it up, then Beam Glide to the block on the right. At this spot, look at the wall between the red and green level entrys to find a ramp heading to the basement floor of the Plaza, where many different Bots are hanging out. The Astro franchise is built upon the success of the PlayStation brand and became the de facto mascot. Another display you can unlock for the Labo area is a sign with the Sony Interactive Entertainment logo which, if punched three times, will drop down and reveal the Sony Computer Entertainment logo. This is the old name for Sony Interactive Entertainment, which changed to that name in 2016.
There are 14 Silver Trophies‚ focusing on core story completion and collectible-based achievements. These trophies reward progression through levels and discovering hidden items. Each level of the game has at least a few checkpoints, so do not worry if Astro is accidentally killed. Especially if he’s grabbed a collector’s item while performing a difficult stunt. During the passage of the next levels of the game, you will come across a lot of bots. win79 can stop them in their tracks by attacking them with fists or lasers in your legs.
When this partnership fell through, Kutaragi persevered and developed it into a standalone console, resulting in the original PlayStation. Right next to the PS + easter egg are two Bots next to eight blue shopping bags. The shopping bag is the icon of the PlayStation Store that launched in 2006, allowing PlayStation Network members to buy digital goods such as games, add-on content, console themes and even game soundtracks.
So far the Super Slim is the final PlayStation system to use a top-loading disc drive, with the top sliding to the side so the user can insert the disc. Following on from the first PlayStation, the PlayStation 2 would use DVDs for its optical storage medium. This proved to be a huge boon for the system, as it allowed it to double as a DVD player right when that format began to take off. The DualShock was actually preceded by the Dual Analog Controller in April that same year.
